I recently took my son's 2010 Camaro SS to Mario's Garage for an oil leak and a non-functioning A/C system, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience. I removed the transmission from a project truck and took it to Mario for a rebuild. Before bringing it in, I called to discuss the project, and he took the time to explain the costs, timeline, and what to expect from the rebuild. Since the transmission is an older unit, it took a little extra time to source parts and complete the work. During the process, there was some miscommunication, mostly due to differences in terminology between a professional transmission builder and a knowledgeable hobbyist. When I installed the rebuilt transmission, I initially thought I hadn't received exactly what I had requested. After speaking with Mario and discussing my concerns, we were able to clear everything up. It turned out they had done exactly what I asked for, and after making a few modifications on my end, I got the results I was looking for. Mario was professional, friendly, and willing to take the time to address my concerns. My only criticism is that there was one inexpensive part—about a $20 item—that I believe should have been replaced during the rebuild, as it would have been much easier to do while the transmission was already apart. Fortunately, it was a minor issue. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the rebuild and the customer service I received. Highly recommended!
